Nov 21st and 23rd, 2017: 'Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse' Programme at Kanakapura (Project Masoom)

::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) is very happy to share that we trained over 1600+ children on 21st November, 2017 and over 900+ children on 23rd November, 2017 at Kanakapur, Bangalore (Rural) on 'Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse'. We thank Young Indians Bangalore (Yi Bangalore - An Initiative of Confederation of Indian Industries) for organizing this event and choosing us to partner with you. Team members of ::MUKTHA:: - Prithvi Krishnamurthy, Annete Shaju, and Tarangini Jayram- Thank you for facilitating the event. We are so proud of you guys :)

Nominate any school for organizing programmes on 'Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse'. The entire team of ::Muktha:: Foundation will facilitate the programme within a week's time.

Nov 3rd to 5th, 2017: Workshop on 'Family and Couples Therapy' at Bangalore

::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) organized a three-day workshop on ‘Family and Couples Therapy’ focusing on Bowenian Approach, Experiential Approach, and Structural Approach to Family Therapy from 3rd November to 5th November, 2017 at Montfort College, Bangalore. The workshop was facilitated by Ashwini N.V, Founder-Director of ::Muktha::Foundation and Maxim Periera, Faculty, Post Graduate Department of Psychological Counselling, Montfort College.

Oct 27th to 29th, 2017: Workshop on 'Cognitive Behavioural Therapy' in collabration with Team Jagruth

A three-day workshop on ‘Basic Principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy’ was organized by Jagruth and facilitated by ::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) from 27th October to 29th October, 2017 at Jagruth Office, Nagawara. The workshop was facilitated by Ashwini N.V (Founder-Director ::Muktha:: ) and Dr. Sowmya Puttaraju, an affiliate of ::Muktha:: and a member of TRI, Bangalore.

Oct 15th and 16th, 2017: Workshop on 'Child Sexual Abuse: Prevention and Intervention' st SDM College, Ujire

Department of Psychology, SDM College, Ujire, Mangalore had invited Ashwini N.V, Founder-Director ::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) to facilitate a two-day workshop on ‘Child Sexual Abuse: Prevention and Intervention’ for the students pursuing Masters in Psychology on 15th and 16th October, 2017 at their campus. We thank the Dean and HoD of the Department Prof. Manjula M.Y, faculty members, and student coordinators for organizing the event.

Oct 5th to 9th, 2017: Workshop on 'Cognitive Behavioural Therapy' at Dr.Harisingh Gour Central University Sagar, Madhya Pradesh

Department of Psychology, Dr.Harisingh Gour Central University Sagar (Madhya Pradesh) had invited Ashwini N.V, Founder-Director ::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) to facilitate a five-day workshop on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for the students and research scholars in the Psychology Department of the University and practitioners at Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. The workshop was conducted between 5th October to 9th October, 2017 as part of a drive to observe ‘World Mental Health Day’.

It was great to learn about the many great initiatives that the department of Psychology at Dr.Harisingh Gour Central University Sagar, Madhya Pradesh has taken to promote mental health in the region. The Department of Psychology has the privilege of being mentored by Prof. Uday Jain, an epitome of wisdom, and humility.


















Sep 25th, 2017: Ashwini N.V consulted by Department of Criminology, University of Madras and UNICEF to Develop Curriculum for an Academic Programme on 'Juvenile Justice and Juvenile Psychology'

Ashwini N.V, Founder-Director of ::MUKTHA:: Foundation ( An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) was invited by Department of Criminology, University of Madras and UNICEF to participate in the workshop to develop curriculum for the one of its kind Diploma programme on ‘Juvenile Justice and Juvenile Psychology’ in the country. The consultation programme was organized at The Raintree Hotel, Chennai on 25th September, 2017.



Sep 24th, 2017: Ashwini N.V at 18th National Conference of Catholic Psychologists of India (Mangalore)

Ashwini N.V, Founder-Director ::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) was invited by 18th National Conference of Catholic Psychologists of India to facilitate a workshop on ‘Building Positive Institutions’ on 24th September, 2017. The conference was held at Shanthikiran, Bajjodi, Mangalore. The theme of the three day conference (22nd- 24th September, 2017) was ‘Positive Psychology – Pathway to Wellbeing’. The conference was attended by over 125 Catholic Psychologists from all over India.

Ashwini N.V (Founder-Director ::Muktha:: Foundation) facilitated a workshop on ‘Basic Counselling Skills’ for students pursuing Masters in Social Work from St.Joseph’s College, Bangalore on 19th September, 2017. The programme was organized by VIMOCHANA – A Women’s Rights Forum at their office located at Jayabharathnagar, Bangalore.

Sep 17th, 2017: Workshop on 'Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse' at Bangalore

::Muktha::Foundation (An Initiative to Prevent Abuse and Promote Mental Health) organized a workshop on ‘Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse’ on 17th September, 2017 at Montfort College, Bangalore. The workshop was attended by over 40 participants. The group was constituted by Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Counselors and Students pursuing Masters in Psychology. The workshop was facilitated by Ashwini N.V, our founder-director of ::Muktha:: Foundation.

Sep 16th, 2017: Workshop on 'Traumatic Experience of Intimate Partner Violence: Therapeutic Intervention' for Employees of Seraniti.com

Ashwini N.V (Founder-Director of ::Muktha:: Foundation) facilitated a workshop on ‘Traumatic Experience of Intimate Partner Violence: Therapeutic Intervention’ to the mental health practitioners at Seraniti – A mental health initiative founded by Dr.Shyam Bhat. The workshop was organized on 16th September, 2017 at Clark Exotica, Bangalore.


Sep 8th, 2017: Ashwini N.V at a Panel Discussion on 'Suicide Prevention' at Montfort College, Bangalore

Ashwini N.V (Founder-Director of ::MUKTHA:: ) was invited to share her views on ‘Suicide Prevention’ in a panel discussion organized by Montfort College, Indiranagar, Bangalore to observe ‘Suicide Prevention Day’ on 8th September, 2017. The other panelist was Dr.Sabrina Roy, Psychiatrist. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr.Neha Parashar, Faculty, Montfort College.
Ashwini N.V emphasized on the need for primordial prevention of risk factors that increases the chances of suicide. She focused on the inter-relationship between interpersonal violence and suicide.

Sep 2nd, 2017: Workshop on 'Trauma-Focused Psychotherapies' at Bangalore

::Muktha:: Foundation (An Initiative to prevent abuse and promote mental health) organized a workshop on ‘Trauma-Focused Psychotherapies’ on September 2nd, 2017 at Montfort College, Indiranagar, Bangalore. The objective of the workshop was to orient the participants to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapy.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Jini K.Gopinath, Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. He is a certified EMDR practitioner. He is the President of Indian Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis and the editor of the International Journal of Transformation of Consciousness.

The workshop was attended by Psychiatrists, Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counselors and Students pursuing Masters in Psychology from various colleges in Bangalore.

Aug 26th, 2017: Launching of Certificate Course on 'Microskills of Counselling'

We are very happy to share that ::Muktha:: Foundation's certificate course on 'Micro-skills of Counselling' got launched on 26th August, 2017. This certificate course is conducted on 10 Saturdays starting from August 26th till November 11th, 2017. A total of 14 participants have enrolled for the programme. We have Clinical Psychologists, Teachers, Storytellers, Trainee-Counselors, Special Educator, Researchers, and Students pursuing PG in Psychology among the participants of this certificate course.

The course aims to enhance skills of therapeutic interaction among participants that they can utilize in their respective fields of work after completion of this course.


Aug 19th, 2017: Workshop on 'Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse' (Project Masoom)

As our second collaborative programme with Young Indians (An Initiative of Confederation of Indian Industries – CII), we co-facilitated a session on ‘Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse’ for teachers from several schools at Mutha school, Banashankari on 19th August, 2017. Ms. Prithvi Krishnamurthy, our trainer at ::Muktha:: Foundation co-facilitated the session along with facilitators from Faith Foundation (Harish Bhuvan) and Storywallahs (Sangeetha Goel). This was part of the project titled ‘Masoom’. It is a nationwide project to prevent child sexual abuse.
